Frustrated by the inconvenience of dealing with local repair shops for his own lawn mower and snow blower service, Russ Benser came up with a better idea. Why not a repair shop that makes house calls?
In 2008, he launched the Mobile Repair Guys serving residential and business locations in Southeast Wisconsin. He started with a single trailer, fully stocked with the parts and tools needed for most small engine repair jobs. Since then, he has brought franchisees on board, all trained mechanics that perform tune-ups, maintenance and minor repairs on site.
The Mobile Repair Guys provide fast, efficient, professional service for less than the brick and mortar service centers.
There are no hidden costs or unwanted surprises. And, yes, the work is guaranteed.
Russ grew up on a farm in Central Wisconsin where, as a boy, he learned the importance of keeping the equipment running smoothly. “I’ve worked on small engines all my life,” he says. He took a class on small engine repair in high school. And to prepare for his own business, he became certified by Briggs & Stratton. Prior to launching The Mobile Repair Guys, Russ was a designer and installer of residential HVAC systems.
The business is growing by leaps and bounds. “I can hardly keep up with it,” says Russ, which is why he decided to offer Mobile Repair Guy franchises. There are currently several franchisees covering SE Wisconsin, with more on the way locally and around the country.
